A popular science book jointly authored by Chairman NDRF, Dr. M. Annadurai and Director, NDRF, Dr. V. Dillibabu was launched at Chennai Book Fair on 10th January 2020. Padmabhushan Dr. A. Sivathanu Pillai, Founder of BrahMos Aerospace released the book. The book has articles related to Chandrayaan-2, Mission Shakti, Nirbhay among others. The importance of mother tongue and human values was also presented in the science communication book for the masses.
Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai Chairman, NDRF, has been honoured with the PERAL FOUNDATION life me Achievement Award 2019 in recognition of his outstanding contribution and achievement in the field of Space Science during national Conference on "SMART SUMMIT - 2020" at Radha Regent, Bangalore on 15 March 2020. This award is hereby conferred on the Recommendation made by the Adjudication Committee.
NDRF, Kalasalingam Deemed University and CVRDE, DRDO jointly held a Technical Project Competition for School & college students. 50 teams were selected for Kalam Awards. NDRF team Dr. MylswamyAnnadurai, Chairman, NDRF, Dr.V.Balamuragan, Director, CVRDE and Dr.V.Dillibabu, Director, NDRF, Dr. V. Vasudevan, Registrar attended the award ceremony on 07 March 2020 at Kalasalingam University.
National Design and Research Forum (NDRF) and Indian Institute of Information Technology Design & Manufacturing Kancheepuram (IIITDM) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding on Innovate Solutions. Dr. M. Mylswamy Annadurai, Chairman, NDRF and Professor Banshidhar Majhi, Director, IIITDM signed the MoU at IITDM, Kancheepuram on 22 January 2020. This MoU is related to the development of collaborative research in design and manufacturing, to support market industrial needs.
NDRF-UNISEC India had jointly organized UAV based CAN Satellite launch at Thyagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai on 7th March 2020 with the participation of invited School Children from various Schools at Madurai. Dignitaries addressed the students followed by CanSat Launch. Dr. M. Palaninatha Raja, Dean (Planning and Development), TCE had presented the welcome address. Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai, Chairman, NDRF, Dr.V Dillibabu, Director, NDRF, Dr. K. Gopalakrishnan, Secretary General, UNISEC India and Convener, 75 Students’ Satellites Consortium attended the event. The event was presided by Dr. V. Abhaikumar, Principal, TCE. Dr. K. Hariharan, Associate Professor, Convener, TCE Students Satellite Project presented the vote of thanks.
NDRF organized World Engineering Day celebrations jointly with Alliance University on 4 March 2020 at Alliance University, Bangalore. Dr. Anubha Singh, Vice Chancellor presided over the event. Chief Guest Prof. R. M. Vasagam, Council Member-IEI and Past Chairman, NDRF delivered a technical talk on “Engineering for Sustainable Development”. In his talk Prof. R.M. Vasagam gave a brief background of ISRO'S focus and its growth to develop and harness indigenous space technology for solving Indian specific problems as India has a large population and diverse kind of problems. Wayback in 1965, at the beginning, ISRO encountered many problems in developing space technologies for the Country need’s which were solved by Indigenous methods. Vote of Thanks was given by Dr. Reeba Korah, Professor and Interim Dean, Alliance College of Engineering and Design. Dr. V. Shankar, Technical Advisor and Shri B. S. Sankar Reddy, Manager, NDRF were attended.

NDRF organized a “ONE DAY CERTIFICATE COURSE ON QUALITY CONCEPTS” on 28 February 2020 at NDRF. Around 27 students from various colleges had taken part and a few professionals from reputed industries graced the event. Dr. V. Dillibabu, Director, NDRF gave an overview of quality concepts and their relevance to modern day requirements. The 1st session was conducted by Smt. Archana Magadi, Asst. Professor, RV college of Engineering, Bangalore on “Japanese Quality Models and Quality Excellence Models”. The pre-lunch session was conducted by Shri T.V Kishore, Manager (Quality), Hindustan Aeronautical Limited (HAL), Bangalore on “AS 9100 ISO 90001 standards”. The program ended with a last session lead by Shri Suneel Kumar, Scientist, Gas Turbine Research Established, DRDO on Total Quality Management and International certifications for quality professionals. This interaction provided the participants with information useful for their future growth. There was exchange of ideas between delegates and participants. At the end of session Vote of Thanks was given by Shri B.S Sankar Reddy, Manager, NDRF. Certificates were issued to the participants by Shri. Suneel Kumar, Scientist, GTRE. Shri R. Vijay Krishna, Project Manager, NDRF coordinated the event.

Chief Guest Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai, Chairman, NDRF and Guest of Honour, Prof. Banshidhar Majhi, Director, IIITDM Kancheepuram were participated. Aim of the meeting was to plan for the way forward in education and training in Composite manufacturing.
National Design and Research Forum (NDRF) and Jeppiar Institute of Technology (JIT), Chennai, jointly organized the “Launch of CanSats” on 8 February 2020 at Chennai as a part of Golden Jubilee Celebrations of National Design and Research Forum (NDRF) and Centenary Celebrations of The Institution of Engineers (India). 12 Students Team received Young Research Engineer Award from Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai, Chairman, NDRF, Vice President, Tamilnadu State Council for Science and Technology.
