Dr P Raghothama Rao
Dr P Raghothama Rao , after graduating in science from National College in Bangalore pursued in Engineering from Indian Institute of Science in Metallurgy. He did his Post-Graduation in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Madras. He holds a Doctoral Degree from Mysore University. He started his professional career in DRDO at ADE Bengaluru. For a short while, he worked in ISRO – VSSC Trivandrum in Satellite Launch Project (SLV-3). Back in DRDO he was richly associated in aircraft materials indigenization, testing and evaluation. As part of this assignment his engagements have been in licensed projects like jaguar, cheetah/chetak and later in ALH and LCA (Tejas). He was also stationed at Hyderabad on materials and process certification for products rolling out from Midhani for aerospace application including missiles. Dr P Raghothama Rao was also recognized with lab scientist, group technology and member of Agni team award while working in CEMILAC from where he superannuated as Regional Director. He is currently associate editor of the Journal of Aerospace Science Technologies of the Aeronautical Society of India, besides being a visiting faculty at HAL Management Academy on call and a freelance consultant on aerospace materials and process for airworthy systems. He has presented and published over 50 technical papers in journals and conferences. He assumed Charge as Chairman, Board of Governors, NDRF for the term 2022-25 on 07th March, 2022.
