The Central Integrated Systems Laboratory (CISL) funded by a grant of Rs. 66.2 Lakhs from IEI will be established at the NDRF, Bangalore. CISL is envisaged to be a National Resource Facility and will serve as a platform for students from different engineering disciplines – Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Electronics, Computers, Bioengineering disciplines to develop expertise in systems-engineering and design of multidisciplinary systems by simulation.

In the recently held function on 1 February 2014, his Excellency Shri Hans Raj Bhardwaj, Governor of Karnataka handed over the IEI Grant to NDRF Chairman, Dr. B V A Rao in presence of Shri Ashok Kumar Basa, President, IEI

The following actives will be carried out at the CISL:

  • High Performance Computing facility; Virtual Reality and 3D Visualization facilityReal-Time Simulation System (HILS) for Micro-Aerial Vehicle (MAV); Aerospace Modeling and Simulation Facility; Propulsion Simulation; Bio-Simulation Facility; Matlab-Simulink Simulation
  • Electronics Simulation and Validation Facility; Mechanical Modeling and Simulation Facility, Electrical Simulation and Validation Facility; Chemical Process Simulation and Validation Facility; Simulation Hardware and Software
  • Material Property Simulation of Multi-Component Systems
  • CISL would help NDRF generate significant state-of-the-art Technology by way of research papers and patents. This expertise would help NDRF participate in industrial consultancy projects to validate and compress the design and development time of complex multidisciplinary engineering systems.
